How can picking pumpkins increase your SAT score?
PWN the SAT, in another unique analogy, explains:
Imagine you work at a pumpkin farm and you’re being paid $5 per pumpkin harvested.
That’s it. No size restrictions. Just $5 per pumpkin.
How would you go about picking the different sized pumpkins?
Would you lift any heavy ones before you’d carried away ALL the light ones?
Of course you would grab as many of the small ones as you could – since that would get you the most money in the shortest amount of time.
Likewise, getting all the easy and medium questions right will get you the most points in the shortest amount of time.
On the new SAT, the math questions are ROUGHLY arranged in order of difficulty. That means that the easier ones are usually at the beginning of the mini-section* and the harder ones are usually towards the end of the mini-section*.
*Each math section (Section 3 and Section 4) is broken down into two mini-sections. The first mini-section has the “choose the correct answer” questions and the second mini-section has the “fill in the blank” questions)
