How do you eat a double-stuffed Oreo?
Everyone eats the stuffing first, then the cookie. You start on the inside and then work your way out.
It’s exactly the same thing with nested function problems on the ACT and the SAT.
Let’s look at how to solve this problem:
Start with the creamy center
Then work your way out
Now work on the outside cookie part
Going back to the original question, we can see that f(2)=3.
Think of cookies!
So the next time you encounter an ACT or SAT nested function problem, you know exactly what to do – imagine you are eating a Oreo, starting at the center first.
