Cross out wrong answer choices
When asked to cross out wrong answers, sometimes my students just draw a tidy x through the letter of the wrong choice.
The problem with this is that your brain still sees all the words of that answer and still has to sort through it – What does this answer say? Oh right, I took that one out.
It just adds to your cognitive load.
Instead, cross though the letter and all the words in that answer.
That will take it off the table for your brain and allow you to focus only on the remaining choices.
